Work Out…side

Need a change of scenery from your home office? Take your work outside, even if its for a short period. With so many us doing our part to flatten the curve, we are spending more time than we are used to in our homes. This temporary, but necessary restriction of our movement can have an impact on our stress levels and mental wellbeing.  Taking your laptop outside will not only spruce up your view, it will provide fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine, both which are natural immunity boosters and antimicrobials.

Not all of the work we do requires full time connectivity to the internet. Reading articles, emails, telephone conversations, and contemplative work can all be done outside. For a list of Common Work Activities you can do outside, go to the How to Ozadi page.

If you do take your office outside, be mindful of your WiFi signal. With video calls, you may want to be hardwired or be closer to a router indoors. Can’t work outside due to weather or connectivity issues, find a window with a view.

Bring the kids and other family members with you if they have studying or work to do as well. If you do have reliable connectivity for video, not only will your colleagues be impressed with your outdoor office, the new drive-by’s may be your pet or wild in nature.

What are you doing to break free from being inside all day?
